Ensuring the quality of our materials is crucial. All incoming materials are tested in our partner’s laboratory. With precise measurement technology, we guarantee consistent quality of rubber compounds, whether produced or purchased. Our comprehensive tests include checks for Mooney viscosity, abrasion resistance, compression set, elongation at break, tensile strength, rebound resilience, hardness, tear strength, density, tensile set, adhesive strength, and release properties. These tests adhere to DIN and US ASTM standards, ensuring our products meet the highest quality benchmarks.
This process is driven by our in-house R&D and engineering team. They develop tailored solutions for customers, optimize production processes, improve product performance, and enhance workflow efficiency. Our engineering team designs and refines our own machinery, ensuring it is perfectly suited to our production needs. By continually improving our products and production techniques, we meet the demanding conditions of our customers’ industries, both now and in the future.
Our production facility in Veendam, the Netherlands, employs approximately 160 skilled workers. It is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and technology for efficient and precise manufacturing. In addition to our main facility in Veendam, we have two fully operational production facilities in the United States, located in Pine City (Minnesota) and Woodland (California). These facilities allow us to serve our North American customers with timely delivery and localized support.
Our production process at Broekema involves several key departments, each contributing to the transformation of raw materials into high-quality conveyor belts. In the rods department, steel rods are cut and shaped using advanced machinery. These rods, along with traction belts are then processed in the preparation department. Here, we cut belts to size, cover rods by hand, and produce smaller parts. We also handle belt joints like lap joints, endless vulcanization, and endless wrapping. In the assembly department, all components are combined into finished conveyor belts. Custom parts and special projects are managed in the Specials department, where materials are cut, shaped, and welded to meet specific needs. The Warehouse/Expedition department manages storage and logistics, ensuring that all finished products are properly stored and efficiently shipped to clients worldwide. Each department works closely together to maintain a seamless production flow, ensuring that our conveyor belts meet high standards and are delivered on time.

At EA Broekema BV, quality control is integral to our production process. We are ISO 9001 certified, ensuring we meet international quality management standards. Our quality control begins with professional incoming inspections of raw materials, such as rubber and steel. Throughout manufacturing, we perform in-process quality checks to ensure components meet precise standards. Our work instructions are risk-based, and we use in-house calibration of measuring instruments for accuracy. We are dedicated to continuously improving our processes, complying with all regulations, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Once the conveyor belts are ready in the final assembly departement, they are transferred to logistics for final preparations. Here, the belts are carefully wrapped, the necessary paperwork is attached, and everything is organized for dispatch. We coordinate closely with our clients to arrange shipping, ensuring that each order is delivered as per agreed terms. This makes sure that the products are well-protected and reach you in a timely and efficient manner.

Our shift towards electric power, away from gas, and the installation of solar panels to power our operations are significant steps towards reducing our environmental impact.
