RT series - Rod drive

The RT Series sprockets are a reliable rod-driven solution designed for webs with a double-belt layout and “top flat / convex down” rod geometry. Made from durable cast iron and built in a split configuration, they offer easy installation and long-term performance under demanding agricultural conditions.

These sprockets transfer power directly into the rods, while the support belts simply guide the web. For optimal function, the RT Series must be used in combination with low-profile lower cams — such as those found on EN0300 or DN0309 belts — to ensure proper alignment and engagement.

RT sprockets can be delivered with standard bore and keyway combinations or customized on request. Their robust design and precise rod engagement make them a strong choice for harvesting setups that require reliable traction without driving on the belt surface. Due to the open ring design, RT sprockets are best suited for applications where excessive soil build-up is not expected.

Strong and versatile rod drive solution, with smart split construction.

  • Drives on rods; belts are guided only
  • Designed for “top flat / convex down” rod profiles
  • Requires low cam support belts (e.g., EN0300, DN0309)
  • Split design allows for simple assembly on shaft

Rod-drive sprockets like the RT Series offer a reliable method of powering webs without depending on belt traction. Instead of gripping the belt surface, the sprockets engage directly with the rods — minimizing slip and maximizing torque transmission under heavy loads.

Split sprockets offer a major advantage in terms of serviceability. They can be installed or replaced without disassembling the entire shaft system, which is especially useful for in-field repairs or seasonal maintenance.

Choosing between different rod-drive sprockets (such as HS or RT) depends on machine type, belt configuration, and the type of crop and soil involved. While the RT Series may require extra attention in muddy conditions, its robust build and secure rod engagement make it a dependable component in many harvesting applications.
