HS series - Friction drive

The HS Series friction drive wheel is part of the original Hamminga System—named after Broekema’s founder and developed to offer a dependable, pitch-independent drive solution. Unlike forced drives that rely on sprockets and rods, the HS friction wheel drives the belt surface directly. This setup eliminates the need for rod engagement and makes the system compatible with a broader range of belt designs.

This cast-iron drive wheel is fitted with a durable rubber surface that ensures consistent traction while minimizing belt wear. It is especially well suited for applications where pitch variability or surface cleanliness cannot be guaranteed. Available with standard bores and keyways (DIN-compliant), the HS friction drive is robust, maintenance-friendly, and ideal for steady, reliable belt propulsion—without the complexity of rod-to-sprocket alignment.
